From: SYSOP To: ALL Re: LSWEEP & NSWP I HAVE PUT LSWEEP.OBJ AND NSWP.OBJ FILES ON A2 FOR THOSE WHO DON'T YET KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH LIBRARY (LBR) FILES. IF YOU'RE ONE OF THEM, SIMPLY DOWNLOAD LSWEEP.OBJ, RENAME IT TO "LSWEEP.COM", PUT IT ON THE SAME DISK AS THE .LBR FILES YOU WANT TO OPEN, AND TYPE: LSWEEP *.LBR THE FIRST LIBRARY ON YOUR DISK WILL APPEAR, WITH A PROMPT ASKING IF YOU WISH TO VIEW OR EXTRACT IT. JUST FOLLOW THE PROMPTS; THEY ARE SIMPLICITY ITSELF. WHEN YOU'VE FINISHED WITH ONE .LBR, TYPE "X", AND THE NEXT ONE WILL APPEAR. ETC., ETC. YOU CAN ALSO TYPE "LSWEEP [LIBRNAME]" IF YOU WISH TO WORK ONLY ON ONE LIBRARY FILE. THE DOC FILE IS ALSO ON A2 FOR READING OR DOWNLOADING. BUT DON'T SPEND TOO MUCH TIME READING ON-LINE IF YOU CAN HELP IT. HOPE THIS WILL AID THOSE HAVING TROUBLE LEARNING TO DEAL WITH LIBRARI ES. -- LL 08MAR85 365: BEST PUBLIC DOMAIN CP/M PROGRAMS Function (? for MENU): R Message [362-2242]? 365 Message number 365 entered Friday 8-Mar-85. It replaces BESTPROG.JEB, which was a year old. For those looking for info as to what the various files on the BOSKUG BB do, this will be a good start, until we can do our own annotating of each user area -- coming soon. - LL 08MAR85 ER FOR MAYKUGEL 1782: NEW WORDPROCESSING FILE: BREAKUP 1783: NEW "GAME" ON A3 1792: REVERSE VIDEO DBII 1799: PHOTOTALK 1800: BREAKUP 1805: NOOZ 1826: JUNE85.MQG 1830: CHEAP DISK 1832: HARD DISKS 1864: 2 NEW FILES IN CP/M SECTION 1865: FINDING NEW FILES 1898: CP/M 2.2 VS 2,2G 1900: NEC PC8201 OWNERS 1908: MEMOREX DISKS 1911: BOSKUG MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION 1912: NEW FILES 1913: NEW FILE 1916: CPM 2.2G 1928: STEVE GEEHAN'S HARD DRIVE FIX 1930: KAREN ROCKOW'S SUMMER WHEREABOUTS 1960: ZDT 1972: KAYPRO 2000 2002: NEW FILE ON B2 2003: WINDOWING WITH WORDSTAR - FILE ON A4 2006: UPLOAD 2011: KAYPRO FOR SALE 2023: DESIRE TO PURCHASE II OR IV 2025: NEW BOARD 2026: ANOTHER NEW BOARD 2027: MACTRANSFER 2030: PW -> WS Message number 2030 entered Sunday 23-Jun-85. From: CHARLES BURNIM To: ALAN CAMPBELL Re: WORDSTAR TRICKS Alan, thank you for uploading SHADES article. I have already tried it and made some modifications that may be helpful to others. Just a little twist with two strings that permit me to call up footnote file, add to it, or edit in any fashion, move it around in the file for easier reference to relevant text with the ^Kv if desired, and then write it out. The key string to bring in the file and place the cursor at the end to add to it, is: ^Kb^Kk^Qb^KrN^Qk^Qd where N is file name. After adding the new note to the file, or making any changes to any of the other notes, I write it out with the following: ^kwNy^Ky That does it quite well. The article stimulates a number of mechanisms, and I thank you for being so attentive to the board and the needs or the members. Try it, you'll like it. ....Charlie..... P.S. While adding or editing the file that you call up, don't do a ^Kh, just go ahead and work with it, if your machine back lights the block, fine, it makes it easier to spot it if you should opt to move it proximate to associated text in working file. 2042: K2000 Function (? for MENU): R Message [362-2242]? 2028 Not found. 2050: JUNE 28 PARTY 2058: DISK FORMAT 2059: MDM740 2073: POOR MAN'S IDEA PROCESSOR 2077: HARD DISKS 2082: UPLOADING FILES 2083: MDM740 OVERLAYS Message number 2083 entered . From: WILLIE LOCKERETZ To: BOB JENNER Re: APPLES/4+88 Thanks for the answer regarding non-readability of Apple disks. I was afraid that might be the case. Are there are special problems regarding Apple to Kaypro transfers over modem? Second unrelated question. I saw your note about your 4+88, which I have also. What version of MSDOS came with yours? I have had big problems which I now realize came from laboring under the illusion that I had v. 2.11 (after all, that's what the sign-on message said, so who can blame me?) It turns out that the CPM to MSDOS setup prog. had the version no., and it assumed that indeed I had 2.11. Actually, I have 1.25. Anyway, do you have v. 2.11? I would like to believe that the problems I've had in exchanging files with a friend of mine with an IBM-PC is because of having v1.25. If you can give me a call at 381-3223 (days) or 738-5820 (eves) or reply on this board, I'd be much obliged. 2242: 4+88 -Jul-85.
