T:have used this machine, certain things must be done before you can use it.
T:Most of what is about to be done is automatic, but does take some time.
T:If you follow the instructions, we can complete this job once and for all.

T:In the following, technical terms (jargon) are in parentheses.

T:During transportation, excessive vibration of the hard disk sometimes causes
T:information recorded on the hard disk (data) to be altered (trashed).
T:Since this is the first time the machine has been used (booted), a test must
T:be run to assure that the data are still correct.

T:This takes a little time, so please be patient.

T:Some errors were detected when testing your Hard Disk.
T:Because of this, we must replace the information on the hard disk.
T:Putting the information back on the hard disk is a simple semi-automatic
T:procedure. To perform the procedure you MUST take your diskette labelled:
T:           CP/M DISTRIBUTION DISKETTE
T:and place it in the floppy disk drive. After inserting the diskette, press
T:the RESET button located on the lower right-hand corner of the computer.
T:When asked if you wish to boot from the floppy disk, please answer with "Y".
T:This will initiate an automatic procedure to repair (format) the hard disk.
T:In addition, you will be asked to insert your nine other distribution
T:diskettes in sequence.
T:
T:After everything has been loaded, this program will begin again.

T:Many Application Programs need to know what brand of computer terminal you
T:are using.  When the list of terminals is displayed, select the one that you
T:have from the list, and enter it's corresponding letter.
