PROSPEC Computer Systems This is the second README file for Expert86 As an added incentive to persuade you to register as an Expert86 user we are running a competition. To enter all you need do is register with us. ******************** * AMSTRAD PC 1512 * ******************** To every 1000th user who registers we will give an Amstrad PC. The 1000th, the 2000th, the 3000th, etc. will each receive an IBM-compatible Amstrad Personal Computer with our compliments. We will continue this for as long as users continue to register. We have organised the competition this way so that you can see exactly what the odds are. There's no catch. It's just a small way of saying "thanks for your custom". ****************** * AUSTIN METRO * ****************** Once we have received 5000 registrations we will place the name of everyone who has registered into a ballot and select one. The winner will receive a brand new car, an Austin Mini Metro 1.0, absolutely free. ********************** ******************** * FORD ESCORT XR3i * * CATERHAM SEVEN * ********************** ******************** If we reach 10000 registrations we will put all 10000 names into a ballot and select one, who will be offered a choice of two cars - a Ford Escort XR3i or a Caterham Lotus Seven. The Escort needs virtually no introduction. It's a very popular sports coupe, which is economical to run and great fun to drive. However, the Caterham will perhaps be less familiar, so a word of explanation might be of use. The car is a replica of the first Lotus model ever produced, the Lotus 7, which appeared in 1957. The car is now available only from a small engineering firm, Caterham Cars in Surrey as a self-assembly kit which takes about 20 hours to put on the road. We are offering a ready-made car which we will have professionally finished for you, unless you prefer to do the job yourself. The Seven is a light-weight, two-seater, open-topped machine. It has a mere 1600cc engine yet boasts performance that would do justice to a Ferrari, along with matchless handling. To take away the most powerful '7' made, which is equipped with a Cosworth engine, Caterham insist that purchasers must first attend a special driving course! The car we are offering is (slightly) tamer. It is not a car for excessively high speeds (though mph figures in the three-digit range are hardly sluggish) but for sheer exhilirating acceleration and power there is little to beat it. One motoring magazine described the experience of driving the Caterham as the "closest thing to flying without leaving the ground". Of course, the Caterham will not be to everyones taste. It offers very little protection from the elements and is by no means a family car. The XR3i is a much more practical option, and no slouch itself. So we leave the choice to you. ****************** * ?????? * ****************** 15000 - if we should reach 15000 registrations.... wait and see. This competition also applies to our other shareware products. If you register for one of the other products as well (every product available at the time this disk was released is described in README.3 and more are on their way) you have a second chance to win. Each product has a separate set of prizes - we are giving away a car with each of our products. Register for three products and you could win three cars. *** Remember - we give away more than just our software *** When it left us this disk contained: HELP.COM - advice on getting started README.1 - introduction to Expert86 [README.2] - this file README.3 - details of other PROSPEC shareware products README.4 - how to copy Expert86 README.5 - more information on Expert86 README.6 - how to use Expert86 README.7 - a blank order form README.8 - details of the ED.COM editor E86.COM - the Expert86 expert system generator CAR - a sample expert system for Expert86 - training set CAR.ATT - a sample expert system for Expert86 - definitions LIST.COM - a utility, similar to TYPE.COM PROSPEC Computer Systems Shareware PO BOX 28 Beeston Nottingham NG9 1PH Great Britain
